Heater Provides Solution to Low Current Leakage Specification
Problem:
A compact, mobile hyper/hypothermia treatment system is used to stabilize a patient's body temperature. Heated water flows through a specially designed blanket, and, combined with the machine's refrigeration system, provides the means to restore a patent's normal body temperature. The heaters must meet the UL® low current leakage requirement of 15 micro amps at 120VAC established under their guidelines for medical equipment.
Solution:
A FIREROD® immersion heater Type LL low current leakage cartridge heater, equipped with ground lead, met all applicable current leakage safety specifications.
