Silicone Rubber Heaters Keep Automated Teller Machines On The Job

Watlow silicone rubber heaters mounted in strategic locations. The heaters prevent moveable parts from freezing, maintain lubricant viscosity and increase part life by acting as a dehumidifier.

Watlow worked over two years on the heater designs before an automated teller machine was sold. The sales engineer coordinated between the customer and the factory on design problems and prototypes. For example, ten holes in the keyboard heater limited the space for winding resistance wire to deliver the desired wattage and voltage.
