Radiant Panel Heaters Dry Ink On Semiconductors

Problem:

Poor quality ink drying on semiconductor marking system.

Solution:

Watlow radiant panel heaters replaced a competitor's.

The Watlow radiant heater assembly proved an integral part of the overall furnace system. Watlow radiant panels dry inks printed on ceramic substrates, prior being fired in a 2000°F (1090°C) furnace. These cured ceramic chips are then used in the semiconductor industry.

When the Watlow radiant panels are located two to four inches from the work surface and operating at 300-480°F (150-250°C), the user is able to achieve belt speeds up to 50-inches (1.3 m) per minute.
