Heaters Warm Cold Blood And Physiological Fluids
Problem:
Warming blood and other physiological fluids requires heating water in a plastic reservoir and pumping it through a riser stand and into a disposable heat exchanger. The water is then rapidly circulated through the heat exchanger to transfer heat and warm the blood or required physiological fluid. This customer required a secondary high limit cut-out device internal to the cartridge heater.
Solution:
A FIREROD® heater, provided with internal thermostat, was developed with construction conforming to the intent of UL® 544 specifications. The FIREROD's internal thermostat provided the secondary high-limit control necessary to prevent melting the plastic reservoir in the event of a malfunction.
