Cleaning Parts That are Going to be Plated

Opportunity:

The customer needed a heater that would combat lime deposits or scaling.

Problem:

The customer needed to heat up a system of 13 tanks containing solutions which consisted of caustic soda, alkaline phosphates, water and various soap solutions. The system is used to clean parts that are going to be plated.

Solution:

We used 25 FIREBAR^® screw plugs, 17 BLNF54L13 units and eight BLNF33L5 units, with NEMA 1 housings and no thermostats or thermocouples. Although the FIREBAR was 15 percent higher, we still got the order because of the FIREBAR's resistance to scale buildup.
