Ceramic Fiber Heaters For High Temperature Reactor Heating
Problem:
A petrochemical company came to a furnace manufacturing company with a requirement to heat a high pressure reactor vessel to approximately 1850°F (1010°C). These high temperatures would initiate an even higher temperature exothermic reaction and generate temperatures up to 2250°F (1230°C).
Solution:
Watlow ceramic fiber heaters provided both the initial heat source and reactor insulation in one lightweight package. The low heat storage of the ceramic fiber heaters made possible rapid, precise control of the heat source all around the reactor. And the light weight of the heater simplified installation in the midst of the complex maze of pipes and values in their plant.
