375 Strip Heater Keeps Smelting Operation Running Smoothly

Problem:

In an ore smelting operation, ash is funneled into a hopper where a screw auger moves the ash to waiting dump trucks. A way was needed to prevent the ash from combining with moisture and clogging the hopper.

Solution:

The smelter installed Watlow 375 strip heaters on the hopper's bottom. The wide variety of stock heaters made it possible for the customer to get the exact wattage required, and fast.
