Economic Development is Focus of Visit by German Officials To Watlow's Kronau, Germany, Facility

Kronau, Germany - Watlow, a designer and manufacturer of electric heaters, controllers and temperature sensors, welcomed two prestigious German political leaders in support of Watlow's economic contributions in Kronau. Heribert Rech, secretary of the interior for the State of Baden Wuerttemberg, and Jürgen Heß, Kronau mayor, visited Watlow's Kronau facility in May and met with Watlow president, chief executive officer and chairman, Peter Desloge, and members of Watlow's management team.
During the meeting, Rech communicated to Watlow how important the company is to future growth in the state, and Heß had this to say about Watlow, "Your company is one of the biggest employers in Kronau. You are very welcome here," He underlined the government's openness toward Watlow, which has been operating the facility in Kronau for more than 20 years.
Watlow's Desloge emphasized the company's continued desire to add new jobs in the area. In the last few years, Watlow has invested $50 million in new product development. The company also plans to further develop its presence in Eastern European markets.
Desloge was accompanied by global management team members Mike Wetle, vice president marketing; Tony Peet, general manager Europe; and Chad Secrist, director human resources. Other meeting participants were Andreas Rose, director of operations-Kronau; Volker Metzger, German sales manager; Oliver Bub, controller and Ulrika Zimmermann, assistant to the general manager.
Rech offered Watlow concrete help to build contacts with the Eastern European markets. The state of Baden-Württemberg has active connections to the new Eastern European partners within the European Union.
